Whereas, more than 40% of the cost of a single beer is due to combined state and federal taxes, and

Whereas, The State of Florida has the 6th highest tax on beer among all fifty United States; and

Whereas, The State of Florida has the 2nd highest foreclosure rate among all fifty United States, and

Whereas, The State of Florida has an unemployment rate amoung the worst in all fifty United States is nearly 12%, and

Whereas, The positive economic impact from the beer industry in the State of Florida is over $11 billion, helping to generate over 100,000 jobs,

NOW THEREFORE, As a consumer of beer and citizen of the State of Florida, I do call upon Governor Charlie Crist and all Florida Legislators to immediately halt consideration of any new or increased tax on beer.
